Qatar Airways announced plans to expand capacity on its Doha-Seychelles route later this month, as the destination “opens up to the world.”
As previously announced, travelers will be able to visit Seychelles Islands from 25 March without quarantine or restriction of movement upon arrival, irrespective of vaccination status, provided that they take the PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival and comply with public health measures, including wearing face masks, social distances, regular sanitization, and hand washing.
Relaxation of prohibitions shall apply to all tourists except those from South Africa.
As a result, Qatar Airways will be connecting its larger B787 Dreamliner to the route from 25 March, with three flights per week “to satisfy increased demand from tourists to idyllic resorts.”
Commenting on the news, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways Thierry Antinori said:
“Our flights to the Seychelles resumed in December 2020. Now that the islands are opening up more for tourists, we are pleased to give our passengers with our Boeing 787 Dreamliners more seat availability and improved and sustainable experience.
“We know that the authorities in Seychelles remain alert and that tourists will also be expected to comply with the public health measures placed in place in the light of the pandemic, which will involve wearing face masks, social distances, and routine hand-cleaning.”
