To encourage adventure tourism in Himachal Pradesh, the authorities have provided adventure activities such as paragliding and river rafting. Tourists visiting Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba, and Shimla will enjoy these adventure activities in new places. The same has been said by Yunus, Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Himachal’s latest scheme, Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein, was unveiled to discover new opportunities for adventurous sports in unexplored areas. The government has built new paragliding sites in various districts. In Kullu, its Pandhara in Gadsa and Khargan in Nangabag, and in Kangra, its Tang Narwana in Khirku.
In the Chamba district, Darouta to Lahra (Khajjiar), Lahra to Darol, and Raina to Nainikhad Jarei, new adventure sites have been discovered. Prashar and Spenidhar are paragliding spots in the Mandi district. The newly notified areas are in Shimla, Tikkar, and Junga in Chauri.
Speaking of new sites for water sports activities such as river rafting, Yunus, Director of State Tourism and Civil Aviation, also said that a new location on the Beas River from Nadaun to Dehra Bridge had been informed.
Not just this, the Tourist Department of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) in Manali has agreed to provide training courses to paragliding pilots for the safety of visitors.
Some of the prime paragliding sites in Himachal Pradesh include Bir-Billing and Chohla Indru Nag in the Kangra district. In Kullu, tourists can enjoy paragliding in Solang Nalah, Marhi, Talaiti-Talogi, and Majach-Shanag.
